Affinity Consultants is proud to facilitate and manage agreements that protect our clients, their members, and licensed vendors in every way possible. One of the key ways that Affinity is able to maintain this protection is by confirming that all vendors have the appropriate insurance coverage.
While the chance for actual product liability is unlikely, several well-known cases support this precaution and are worthy of consideration. For example, a popular fast food company was sued for millions due to a coffee cup that didn't have appropriate warnings as to the temperature of its contents. Other examples include a child choking on a piece of jewelry, or someone claiming the ink on their shirt was flammable or otherwise caused injury. Such cases could be drawn out extensively even though the product is not, in fact, faulty. Vendors caught in the crosshairs of such a case can feasibly run up large legal bills and leave our clients potentially vulnerable. In the event a customer was to file a product liability claim against your company, their attorneys would also pursue the organization that approved the product.
However, with the appropriate product liability insurance in place, customers, Greek organizations and our vendors are all protected. Let's continue to work together to protect your products and the market we are all devoted to serving!
